Tragedy has reportedly struck in one of the lecture halls of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin.
According to a report by The PUNCH, a 100-level student of the institution, Aminat Tajudeen, died while receiving a lecture.
What really happened to the student?
The incident gathered, occurred around 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 12.
She was said to have collected her matriculation gown for the ceremony scheduled for Thursday, April 13, and returned to class when the incident happened, The Nigerian Tribune added.
Police react
Reacting to the development, on Thursday evening, April 13, the college public relations officer, Mrs Abibat Zubair confirmed the incident, and disclosed that she was a student of Music/Yoruba, adding that she was mourned by the college and students during the matriculation ceremony.
List of Nigerian universities where TETFund will establish innovation hubs in 2023
In another development, Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), announced at a media conference in Abuja on Thursday, April 13, that innovation hubs will be established in six universities across Nigeria.
Echono stated that the innovation hubs would also be set up in polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
The universities were selected from each of the six geopolitical zones in the country.

Legit.ng reported earlier that there was mild drama on Monday, February 13, when some protesters hit the streets of Lagos over the mysterious death of Whitney Adeyemi, a pupil of Chrisland School.
The Punch reports that the protesters, believed to be relations of the late pupil, besieged the school premises to protest Whitney’s death.
Whitney, 12, died during the school’s inter-house sports at Agege Stadium in the Agege area of the state.
