Sequel to the postponement of the Gubernatorial elections by INEC and the Honourable Minister of Education’s directive on the subject, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi has approved the extension of the academic break embarked upon by members of the University Community.
A statement by the Registrar of the University, Mr Gabriel Egbe indicates that students are to return to the University on Monday, March 20, 2023, when academic activities are expected to commence fully.
The statement adds that those on essential duties are expected to continue discharging their duties accordingly, even as members of Expanded Management have been enjoined to ensure a seamless resumption of full academic activities.
Furthermore, staff of the Institution engaged in election duties as INEC ad hoc staff are admonished to remain, good ambassadors of the University, as they discharge such responsibilities, the statement adds.
