This announcement follows the University’s recent Board meeting, marking a significant step in planning for the upcoming academic year. Both students and faculty members are advised to familiarize themselves with the new dates.

Revised First Semester Schedule 2022/2023
The first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year will officially kick off with the Post UTME Screening of aspiring students from November 2nd to 4th, 2022. Subsequent to the screening, admission of fresh students will commence and run from November 14th to 30th, 2022.
From November 21st to December 9th, 2022, new students are expected to make necessary payments, such as the acceptance fee and school charges, complete online clearance, physical clearance, and registration. Old students, on the other hand, are to make their school charges payment and complete their registration from November 28th to December 9th, 2022.
Lectures will officially begin for returning students on December 5th, 2022. All students will then break for Christmas from December 16th, 2022, before resuming lectures on January 8th, 2023. Fresh students will have their orientation exercise from January 10th to 12th, with lectures for them commencing on January 16th, 2023.
The matriculation ceremony is scheduled for April 27th, 2023, while the first-semester lectures will come to an end on May 12th, 2023. This will then be followed by the various first-semester examinations, after which students will proceed on a one-week semester break from June 5th to 11th, 2023. The first semester will officially come to a close on July 10th, 2023, with the Faculty and Institute Academic Boards meeting to consider results.
Second Semester Highlights 2022/2023
The second semester commences with students returning to residence on June 11th, 2023, and lectures starting on the following day. Lectures will run for 15 weeks and end on September 1st, 2023.
Revision week is scheduled for September 4th to 8th, 2023. This will then be followed by the GST Examinations and the Second Semester Examinations for Education Students and all other students. An end of session break will take place from October 7th to 22nd, 2023.
The second semester ends with Departmental and Faculty and Institute Academic Boards meetings to consider the sessional results, scheduled for October 23rd and October 30th, 2023, respectively. The Senate will meet to consider the sessional results from November 13th to 17th, 2023.
Post UTME Screening Form for 2023/2024 Session
Prospective students should note that the Post UTME screening form for the 2023/2024 session will tentatively be released on August 16th, 2023.
First Semester Schedule 2023/2024
The first semester for the 2023/2024 session will start with old students resuming on October 22nd, 2023, and registration for all old students starting on October 23rd, 2023. Lectures for returning students will begin on November 6th, 2023, and a Christmas break will start on December 17th, 2023. Both old and new students will resume from the break on January 7th, 2024.
