The University Management received complaints on the status of the above programmes in relation to the duration and nomenclature of the degrees to be awarded by the institution, and wether a re-sit and repeat regulations may affect students studying these programmes.
The Management, having consulted widely from sister institutions offering a similar programmes and the National Universities Commission (NUC) approval document, at its 29th meeting held on Tuesday, 23rd May, 2023, considered and approved as follows that;
i. Both Human Nutrition & Dietetics and Public Health Courses are Basic Programmes
ii. Both Programmes are four (4) years degrees
iii. Students of these Programmes are to carry over failed Course(s)
iv. Students are NOT at any level expected to re-sit a failed Course(s) or repeat a Particular session
Consequently, the University Management by this memo directed as follows
i. All students offering these programmes who were asked to either change Programme or repeat a Session are hereby requested to REMAIN at their appropriate levels
ii. Students should register and carryover failed Course(s) at ANY level and be passed before graduation.
Thank you!
Signed
Management.
